Welcome! My name is Devin and I am the current Level Designer and Environment Artist for Chambers Escape Games. 
Below you can find my portfolio showcasing some of my work in game development.

EXPERIENCE

PIRATES PLAGUE

Unreal Engine 4

"Pirates Plague" is a Co-op Virtual Reality escape game designed for 2-5 players. Players traverse the ancient ruins of Kraken Island, desperate to find a cure to the pelagic plague they have been cursed with. Will a kraken's heart be enough to save them before time runs out?

Genre: Escape Room, Co-op, Puzzle, Action-Adventure
Role(s): Level Designer & Environmental Artist
 

Responsibilities:

  • Designed 4 distinct levels, each with a variety of puzzles, challenges, and areas.

  • Built 8 areas, each with unique designs, made with assets from our team.

  • Connected each level to the overall plot for a cohesive narrative.

  • Established base mechanics that progressively increased in complexity.

  • Constructed puzzles with multiple solutions.

  • Designed action sequences that involved cooperative puzzles and time sensitive VR action (Kraken Fight & Enemy Ship Battle).

  • Redesigning and adjusting after playtest and customer feedback.

RUNAWAY TRAIN

Unreal Engine 4

"Runaway Train" is a Co-op Virtual Reality escape game designed for 2-5 players. Dr. Steem has escaped and has rigged an explosive train to crash into the town that has imprisoned him. Players must board the train and defeat Dr. Steem before it's too late!

Genre: Escape Room, Co-op, Puzzle, Action-Adventure
Role(s): Level Designer & Environmental Artist
 

Responsibilities:

  • Designed 4 distinct levels, each with a variety of puzzles and challenges.

  • Built 5 areas, each with unique designs, made with assets from our team.

  • Connected each level to the overall plot for a cohesive narrative.

  • Established base mechanics that progressively increased in complexity and difficulty within the level and the overall game.

  • Designed action sequences that involved cooperative puzzles and time sensitive VR action (Dr. Steem Final Boss & Automation Shootout).

  • Redesigning and adjusting after playtest and customer feedback.

MEAN BEANS

Unity

"Mean Beans" is a an online multiplayer battle royale game featuring 2-10 players competing with diverse weapons on various battlefields. Players fight in multiple rounds and collect points by not only being the last player standing, but killing other players as well! The bean with the most points at the end wins!

Genre: Battle Royale, FPS, Action

Role(s): Founder & Project Lead

Responsibilities:

  • Managed a multidisciplinary team of 3 individuals.

  • Spearheaded game design, level design, and environmental art to ensure a cohesive player experience.

  • Designed and constructed 5 unique maps, varying in size and game design.

  • Conducted playtesting, implemented quality assurance processes, and gathered player feedback for continuous improvement.

  • Led community engagement efforts through social media platforms, fostering a strong and loyal player community.
